Originally from London, Cheryl Kane is the daughter of an English dance teacher and an American businessman. Raised primarily in England by her mother, she often traveled back to the states to visit her father and the American half of her family. At the age of 18, at her mother's urging, Cheryl responded to an advert in the local paper regarding auditions for a girl band. Much to her surprise, she made the cut. The group, consisting of Cheryl and 4 other girls from all over the UK found success in Europe with their catchy pop music, releasing a total of 3 albums together before disbanding. Their first album, What Will the Neighbours Say, was released in late 2004, with their first Single "Jump" reaching number 2 on the UK Singles Chart. Their second album, Chemistry, was released a year later and their third and final album, Tangled Up followed in 2007. As the group gained popularity, things quickly began to fall apart with mounting drama behind the scenes. Egos clashed, frustrations grew and Cheryl became tired of the whole situation. The group broke up shortly after they wrapped up their Tangled Up tour in 2008. In need of a break from the music scene as she knew it, Cheryl hopped the first flight out of town, eventually landing in Orlando where she currently resides.
After taking some time off to figure out her next move, Cheryl was hired by Matthew Percy to act as the promotions/entertainment manager for his new tiki lounge. Hoping to make the lounge into a staple in the Orlando music scene, the ultimate in chill, performance venues, it is now Cheryl's job to oversee promotion, get the word out about the tiki lounge and of course, book artists, the aspect of the job she is most looking forward to. After years of working as an artist, Cheryl is thrilled to find herself on the other side and has every intention of taking her job seriously and doing all that she can to make Matt's lounge THE place to be. The one thing she is not too pleased with is her European pop star past. Embarrassed by their "cheesy music" and still sore about the issues that lead to their break-up, it is something she avoids mentioning at all costs. And if she can, she'll even deny it. The only traces of her girl band past would be her continued friendship with her former band mate, Kimberley, who still lives in London.
